About Luella
I am passionate about helping people improve their quality of life through offering compassionate, evidence-based and quality client care. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (First Class Honours) at the University of Canberra in 2021, followed by a Master of Professional Psychology (Distinction) in 2023 at the University of Newcastle and has completed internships in private, disability and community settings.
In my 2021 bachelor of science in psychology honours thesis, I examined how community-based creative arts programs can support disaster risk reduction in bushfire-affected communities. The research highlighted creative expression and social connection as meaningful pathways for healing trauma, strengthening community bonds, and enhancing resilience.
Coupled with a background in music and performance, and ongoing studies in music performance, this has led to my strong interest in supporting performers, athletes, creative and neurodiverse individuals, those in front line, high-pressure or performance-focused roles, and people recovering from trauma.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dog, family, and friends, health and fitness, swimming at the beach, hiking in nature, playing music and reading about philosophy and psychology.
