“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become” - Carl Jung

Luella Adams is a Newcastle-based registered psychologist, offering compassionate, strengths and evidence based care in person and Australia-wide via telehealth.

She is passionate about working with individuals over 16 with ADHD, autism, anxiety, complex trauma, PTSD, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, performance, and mood disorders and offering a safe and non-judgemental space.

Luella has 8 years’ experience working in NDIS settings, working closely with neurodivergence, complex trauma, anxiety and depression in various roles. She has further experience in defence, workcover and Medicare.

Treatment approaches include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solutions focused therapy (SFT) and social skills training (SST). Luella also conducts comprehensive assessments, including autism, adhd, cognitive, capacity, and learning assessments.

She currently spreads her time between two clinics (Brighter Life Psychology - community and telehealth and Rest in Essence - Broadmeadow, NSW), and studies music performance. Outside of work, Luella enjoys time with her loved ones and dog, keeping active, playing music, reading, and nature.

Studies show that the therapeutic relationship can predict up to 30% of client outcomes, so it’s important that we’re a good fit. Make an enquiry or book a no obligation 10 minute meeting.
